AS9100 Internal Auditor
– is an individual within the internal audit team who participate in the in-house audit processes. They can be engaged in one or more audit activities. Internal auditors must successfully complete a 2-day face-to-face course or a 16-hour e-Learning course.

AS9100 Lead Auditor
– has overall responsibility for an audit program and can facilitate hassle-free audit processes from planning, to reporting its results, through to evaluating corrective actions. Lead auditors must successfully complete a 5-day face-to-face course and pass a 2-hour written exam.

In particular, AS9104/1:2022 (Table D.1 - D) and AS13100 mandates that auditors must be competent – trained and qualified as Aerospace Lead Auditors. The IAQG also mandate ‘baseline training’ for AAs and AEAs which involves passing a TPAB approved ASD Lead Auditor Course.
