The Foundry Certification Programme provides everything necessary to design, document and implement a practical QMS (quality management system) with the aim of achieving either third-party ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100 certification or AQAP 2110/2310 conformity in the shortest possible timeframe - guaranteed in writing!
TEC's consultants work on-site with your personnel throughout development and implementation and we only consider the programme complete after successful third-party certification. The Foundry Certification Programme is particularly relevant for small to medium sized companies.
Each Foundry Certification Programme is customised to suit particular requirements, for example:
- Starting from scratch where there is no existing third-party certification
- Upgrading from a basic ISO 9001 QMS certification to IATF 16949 or AS9100 plus AQAP 2110/2310 conformity
- Modernizing an existing QMS using a process-based approach replacing ‘mountains’ of narrative procedures with visual aids and simple flowcharts
Working with your team, TEC use 'high level' visual aids to explain your QMS processes, simplify procedures and actively manage effectiveness and performance. For example, working with clients in the UK, Europe and USA hundreds of narrative procedures have been eliminated and replaced by 4 to 8 key processes - with each process visually mapped onto just four pages! This results in a more efficient and streamlined business model and a user-friendly QMS - all at a remarkably low cost.
The Foundry Certification Programme is delivered in three phases to a timescale individually agreed with the client. Each phase has tangible ‘deliverables’ - with third-party certification being the deliverable of Phase-3 - guaranteed!
TEC work on a fixed price contract with no extras - payments are aligned with the programme phases. The Foundry Certification Programme ‘deliverables’ are guaranteed in writing from the start. Programmes are only concluded after clients have received their certifications!
Increasingly industrial customers are mandating that their foundry suppliers have ISO 9001 certification as a minimum - and may be demanding IATF 16949 and AS9100 in some cases or AQAP 2110/2310 confomity. Frequently they also add in their own additional QMS requirements. Third-party certification is now established as the “Passport” for doing business in the cast metals industry.
Certification alone is not sufficient! The QMS documentation must be practical, visual and useable by the operational personnel concerned. It must add value to the business, represent ‘best practice’, and focus on performance as well as conformity to requirements.
The systems designed and implemented by TEC for their clients deliver all of these benefits. Because your personnel are involved every step of the way they will have ‘ownership’ of the QMS processes making day-to-day operational success ‘custom-and-practice’. Empowerment training is included in all of TEC’s programmes.
Your QMS will focus on customer priorities such as quality, delivery, responsiveness and cost-down performance and ensure that your processes are monitored for continuing effectiveness to boost profits and eliminate problems as soon as they are recognized. Risk-based thinking, the Process approach and Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle are considered to be the core concepts involved.
During the implementation phase, TEC will assess the competency of your personnel and then provide training and coaching as required to ensure that they can accomplish their jobs in a correct and consistent manner.
