The AS9120:2016 Implementation Program provides everything necessary to design, document and implement a practical AS9120 QMS (quality management system) with the aim of achieving third-party certification in the shortest possible timeframe – guaranteed in writing!
TEC's consultants work on-site with your personnel throughout development and implementation and we only consider the program complete after successful third-party certification!
Each program is customised to suit particular requirements, for example:
Starting from scratch where there is no existing third-party certification
Upgrading from a basic ISO 9001 QMS certification
Modernizing an existing AS9120 QMS certification
Upgrading an existing 'process-based' system to exploit all of the new requirements
Working with your team, TEC use high level visual aids to explain your QMS processes, simplify procedures and actively manage effectiveness and performance. For example, working with clients in the UK and USA hundreds of narrative procedures have been eliminated and replaced by 4 to 8 key processes – with each process visually mapped onto just four pages! This has resulted in a more efficient and streamlined business model and a user-friendly QMS.
The AS9120:2016 Implementation Program is delivered in three phases to a timescale individually agreed with the client. Each phase has tangible ‘deliverables’ - with third-party certification being the deliverable of Phase-3!
TEC always work on a fixed price contract with no extras – payments are aligned with the program phases. The program deliverables are guaranteed in writing from the start.
Increasingly aerospace/defence customers are mandating that their stockist/distributors have AS9120 certification as a minimum - with their own additional QMS requirements embedded. AS9120 certification is rapidly becoming the “Boarding Pass” for supplying materials and commodities in these sectors. The AS9120 standard is for use by organizations that procure parts, materials and assemblies and resells these products to a customer in the aviation, space and defence industries. This includes organizations that procure products and split them into smaller quantities including those that coordinate a customer controlled service on the product.
NB: The AS9120:2016 standard is not intended for organizations that maintain or repair products. Organizations that perform work that affect or could affect product characteristics or conformity should use the AS9100:2016 or AS9110:2016 standards, as appropriate.
Certification alone is not sufficient! The QMS documentation must practical, visual and useable by the operational personnel concerned. It must add value to the business, represent ‘best practice’, and focus on performance as well as conformity to requirements.
The systems designed and implemented by TEC for their clients deliver all of these benefits. Because your personnel are involved every step of the way they will have ‘ownership’ of the QMS processes making day-to-day operational success ‘custom-and-practice’.
Your QMS will focus on customer priorities such as quality, delivery and responsiveness performance and ensure that your processes are monitored for continuing effectiveness to boost profits and eliminate problems as soon as they are detected. Risk-based thinking, the Process approach, the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle and ‘Just Culture’ are considered to be the core concepts involved.
During the implementation phase, TEC will assess the competency of your personnel and then provide training and coaching as required to ensure that they can accomplish their jobs in a correct and consistent manner.
